Unveiling of Two New Initiatives
On Tuesday evening a new group was formed, to create two brand new initiatives that promises to bring The Bridge into the limelight as Connecticut’s Premiere healing arts center.
The first element is to create the state’s first “Holistic Cancer Support Group”.
This group will be comprised of plethora of holistic practices and practitioners that have proven records to increase the odds of allowing people that have been diagnosed with cancer to not only survive, but move beyond the entire the cancer experience.
We are recruiting practitioners that focus on specific modalities such as diet; pain management; and various specialties that can be of significant benefit to people with cancer.
Most hospitals today offer support groups for their patients with cancer, but there is a growing audience of people with cancer that have varying levels of curiosity of holistic options to help them in their medical, emotional and perhaps even Spiritual battles.
This is the niche that this group will be focusing on.
However there is a major obstacle that would prevent the vast majority of cancer patients from taking advantage of these beneficial modalities.
That simply is finances. Insurance companies do not support this type of approaches to the cancer battles.
This brings up the second initiative that was proposed.
Eye of the Eagle Foundation will become a non-profit foundation that will raise funding to support the holistic approaches to not only cancer, but a plethora of additional medical conditions.
This will be addressed in a two tiered approach to gain the capital to create and fund the foundation.
Step I:
The initial funding will be obtained through appeals through the “Go Fund Me Page”.
The initial expenses to create the foundation will be to pay for the legal expenses of filing for the non-profit corporation status.
Our resident accountant has offered to do the accounting aspects pro-bono, which is a huge help. He has also put us in touch with an attorney that will file the paperwork at a very nominal fee.
The second financial aspect will be the creation of an impressive website that will not only provide information about the foundation but also have the ability to accept personal donations.
Step II:
A large segment of the funding will come through the procurement of Grants.
On Tuesday’s meeting we discovered that one of the attendees has extensive experience in Grant Writing, and the solicitation of funds. She has volunteered to chair this vital aspect of the program.
At our next meeting, which is scheduled for Nov. 15th at 6:30 PM we will be looking for volunteers to fill a wide range of positions & committees, as well as practitioners for the holistic cancer support positions.
These positions will be open to both resident and non-resident practitioners of the Bridge Healing Arts Center, which is located at 304 Main Street, Farmington, CT.
These services are drastically needed in our communities and beyond. If you have a burning desire to benefit people that either are or will, at sometimes in the future afflicted with cancer we implore upon you to take a giant step forward and become an integral part of this entire program.
